Ripka's Giving Tree was held on Dec. 2 at Ripka's Beach Café at Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk. More than 50 trees, wreaths and decorations were unloaded. Dozens of the beautiful wreaths were decorated by families at one of the three decoration stations set up, where red bows and sparkly ornaments awaited them.

Attendees also got to enjoy free hotdogs, hot cocoa and s'mores with Santa Claus and a snowman. Later on, Santa sat in his beach chair in front of a colorfully decorated Christmas tree and took children's orders for their holiday gifts.

All the sales profits from Ripka's Giving Trees will be donated to the Courage to Speak Foundation, Marvin Elementary School, Nathan Hale Middle School, and Toys for Tots.

Due to the efforts of volunteers and participating organizations, Ripka's Giving Trees was a joyous event and the organizers can't wait to do it again next year.
